Dubai, 1 October 2025 – Tamasuk is pleased to announce the appointment of two key executives to its leadership team as the company continues to strengthen its position in the market and drive its long-term strategic objectives.
We congratulate Andrew Smithson as our new Chief Development Officer (CDO) and welcome Andrew Bailey as our new General Counsel.
Previously head of project development, Andrew’s transition into the Chief Development Officer role ensures continuation of Tamasuk’s successful track record of winning first-of-a-kind infrastructure projects. The expanded role will include responsibility of overseeing Tamasuk’s development strategy, project origination, and executing strategic partnerships to support the company’s growth across the region. He brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors, having previously held leadership roles at Alcazar Energy and HSBC MENA Infrastructure Fund.
As General Counsel, Mr. Bailey will provide leadership in the legal department for Tamasuk across new project development, portfolio management and corporate affairs. He will also provide counsel to the chief executive and ensure corporate governance in accordance with Tamasuk’s investor and policy framework. With more than 25 years of extensive legal experience across the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors, Mr. Bailey previously served as an Executive Director at ACWA Power in Dubai, where he led legal strategy on landmark projects, including the world’s first project financed utility scale green hydrogen project and several international power generation and water infrastructure projects.
The appointments of Mr. Smithson and Mr. Bailey mark a significant step in Tamasuk’s commitment to strengthening its executive leadership and positioning the company for continued success across the region.
